A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

My name is Laura Elliott and I am an artist living in the Los Angeles area. I am a very hard working and motivated artist with aspirations of working for amazing company doing 2D and 3D design. I love to work with motivated and driven people much like myself, people who are as passionate about their career and their art as I am.

I moved out here in 2005 to pursue my career in the film and television industry as an FX artist. After school I spent a little over a year establishing myself in the industry, working small jobs until 2008 when I landed my dream job working for a man that was an idol to me growing up; Stan Winston. Stan passed away about 4 months after I started working for him and the company changed names and moved to a new location. I stayed on with the new company, Legacy FX, working on titles such as IronMan 2, Terminator Salvation, Pandorum, etc.

In the spring of 2010 I decided to go back to school to further my education and explore the world of digital effects. I took various classes at Gnomon School of Visual FX for over a year and a half focusing mostly on Lighting and Texture painting. I discovered that I enjoyed many different aspect of the digital art world such as environment creation for video games, level building and interior/exterior design. I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself artistically.
